MindFul Musings..
Most of my thought process these days revolve around The 100 Day Project as it is first and foremost in my mind. I am committed to seeing it through and while I have had many uninspired moments, I have found that the A’ha moments far outweigh them so onwards I go!
Sharing a few thoughts I have had over the past few weeks that may help you, and myself, better understand my process:
Thought: I am creating daily in small chunks of time. While these pieces are not created together, I do need them to be cohesive and able to work together. Eventually they will be collaged together. A limited palette and an Intention/ Feeling have helped me along here.
Thought: I try to approach each art session with an Intention or a Feeling. What am I after? Do I want this work to feel playful or do I want it to feel serene.Maybe I want it to feel Bold or Quiet with small color variations. The list is endless, it is up to you to decide! Keep in mind it’s a feeling so if you are feeling tired and not so playful -> Do not try to create that way.
Trust me…whenever I have to push creatively for something, it rarely seems to go as planned. For this series I chose Nature oriented - a feeling of wet grass, a spring sunset , emerging life. I wanted my colors to feel fresh, not bright. I wanted them to feel like the forest after a good rain.
Thought: I need a selection of collage papers that are different enough from each other. Solid papers, Transparent papers. Messy work. Linework. Pattern. A little bit of everything so I can combine them in an interesting way.
Thought: So all is coming together except if the wind blows. I am still trying to figure out a way to collage these together without gluing it all down.I want these pieces to have a bit of dimension. All ideas are welcome, please and thank you!
That is all for this week! Thanks for reading. Please scroll back for a few other posts that might interest you.
